Character Analysis: Rin Yamaoka/The Spirit

Image
Rin Yamaoka, or The Spirit, is a frightening killer in skill and appearance. She carries her family's katana as her main weapon, and she has the ability to teleport, going invisible for several seconds before popping back up to scare survivors working on generators. Her Perks include the following: Spirit Fury, which breaks a pallet instantly when one is thrown on her if she has destroyed at least 2 herself, Hex: Haunted Ground, which spawns in two totems, and when one has been cleansed, all survivors locations are revealed to Rin. Finally, Rancor causes a Survivor to become Rin's obsession for the match, and every time a generator is completed, the Obsession themselves are revealed to Rin for a couple seconds. When all generators have been completed, the Obsession's aura is permanently revealed to Rin for the rest of the match, and she is granted the ability to kill the Obsession by her own hand. Rin Yamaoka had a rough upbringing, with her private education and her mothe

Character Analysis: Evan Macmillan/The Trapper

Image
Evan Macmillan, better known as the Trapper, was one of the first Killers included in Dead By Daylight. His use of traps makes him a fiece and difficult Killer to go against, especially since his traps will blend in with the ground and if you're running from him...well, it's not easy to see those traps, so there's a good chance you'll get stuck in one. His primary weapon, what he will whack you with, is the Cleaver. His Perks include Unnerving Presence, which causes more difficulty in repairs for the survivors when they are in his terror radius, Brutal Strength, which gives Evan the ability to smash pallets, breakable walls, and damage generators with much more efficiency, much faster than before, and Agitation, which causes Evan's movement speed to considerably increase when carrying a survivor to the hook. Evan is a tragic character, being manipulated and emotionally abused by his father into hurting others, keeping them away from his father's estate. Basica

Explanation for DBD

So...if you've never heard of Dead By Daylight, a lot of terms I'm going to reference are gonna be confusing, so let me explain them to get them out of the way. The main goal of the game is for four survivors to repair five generators in order to bring power to the gates, the exit for said survivors. But there's a catch. You won't be safe from harm while doing these repairs, as there is a Killer following you at all times, looking to throw you on a hook and sacrifice you to the Entity.  Killers can vary, going from complete monsters to still humanoid looking people. Their main goal, like stated before, is to hunt down and hook all four survivors, sacrificing them to the Entity. Not much is known about the Entity, aside from the fact that they drag normal people into their realm, constantly in a loop of running and hiding.  Survivors are tasked with escaping the Entity's realm, keeping safe from the killers and repairing their generators. Perks are unique abilities

Character Analysis: Cheryl Mason

Image
Cheryl Mason is a more recently added survivor to Dead By Daylight, included in the Silent Hill DLC, and one that I play as quite often due to her helpful perks. Let's review them, shall we? Her first perk is Soul Guard, which grants Cheryl the Endurance Status effect when she's been healed from the Dying state. The second perk is Blood Pact, and it allows Cheryl to see the Obsession if they have been injured. This doesn't count when Cheryl herself is the Obsession, as she can already see herself. But the Obsession can see when Cheryl is injured. Repressed Alliance is our third and final perk, at least what's unique to Cheryl. It gives Cheryl the ability to block generators after she's worked on them for a certain amount of time, which comes in handy when a Killer is trying to halt your progress. Cheryl started volunteering at a crisis convention center after the horrific death of her father, and she'd also dealt with having to escape from a cult that had tail

Character Analysis: Claudette Morel

Image
Claudette Morel is one of many survivors found in Dead By Daylight, but who is she exactly? Well, she can be best described as one word: empathetic.  Claudette has three unique perks (or abilities) that perfectly amplify her caring and kind nature. The first is Empathy, which will reveal the aura (or outline) of a survivor to Claudette when said survivor has been injured. Botany Knowledge increases the healing speed of medkits or just general healing of another survivor. Self-Care is similar, except this time Claudette can heal herself without the use of a medkit, which would be needed any other time.  Claudette herself is a Canadian botanist, who ran a blog helping people online before the Entity took her. She has loved experimenting ever since she was a little girl, when her parents got her her first science kit. Claudette is one of the first four survivors introduced to Dead By Daylight, and doesn't have to be bought like with other characters who were included in DLC's.
